Employer-sponsored skilled visas
Visas that require the nomination or sponsorship of an employer:
- Training (subclass 407) – A temporary visa to undertake training.
- Skills In Demand (SID) (subclass 482) – A temporary visa which can lead to the permanent subclass 186 visa.
- Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) (subclass 494) – A temporary visa which can lead to the permanent 191 visa.
- Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) (subclass 186) – A permanent visa, subsequent to the subclass 482 visa or directly.

Skilled (independent, nominated by a government, sponsored by a relative) visas
Your skills are an important consideration with these visas:
- Skilled (Independent) (subclass 189) – A permanent visa (does not require nomination or sponsorship).
- Skilled (Nominated) (subclass 190) – A permanent visa that requires nomination by a State/Territory.
- Skilled (Regional Work) (subclass 491) – A provisional visa that requires a nomination by a State/Territory, or sponsorship by a relative.
- Skilled (Regional) (subclass 887) – A permanent visa for holders of the 491 visa (or the 489 visa).
- Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) – A temporary visa for graduates of Australian education programs.

Partner visas
Visa for people who are in a partner relationship with an Australian, Australian permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen:
- Prospective Marriage (subclass 300) – The applicant is outside of Australia at the time of lodgement and plans to marry the sponsor.
- Partner (subclasses 309/100) – The applicant is outside of Australia at the time of lodgement. The subclass 309 visa is a temporary visa and the subclass 100 visa is the permanent visa.
- Partner (subclasses 820/801) – The applicant is outside of Australia at the time of lodgement. The subclass 820 visa is a temporary visa and the subclass 801 visa is the permanent visa.

Parent visas
Visas for parents of an Australian permanent resident or Australian citizen to migrate to Australia:
- Contributory Parent (subclasses 173/143) – These subclasses involve contributing a large fee for quicker processing times (compared to the non-contributory visas).
- Contributory Aged Parent (subclasses 884/864) – These subclasses are for ‘aged parent’ and involve contributing a large fee for quicker processing times (compared to the non-contributory visas).

Other family visas
Visas for other family members include:
- Child (subclasses 101/802) – Visas for children of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.

Visitor visas
Visas for visiting Australia for purposes such as tourism, visit family, business:
- Visitor (subclass 600) – A general visa that a citizen of any country can apply for.
- eVisitor (subclass 651) – A visa that is available to citizens of about 36 countries.
- Electronic Travel Authority (subclass 601) – A visitor visa that is available to citizens of about 34 countries.

Student and Student Guardian visas
These visas allows you to study in Australia or provide care for an international student in Australia:
- Student (subclass 500) – A visa for students to study or to conduct research in Australia.
- Student Guardian (subclass 590) – A visa for a family member of an international student to stay in Australia to provide care for the student.

Australian education
Services that we can offer to international students include:
- Education program advice and enrolment – Advise on suitable education programs and assist with enrolment.
- Change of education program – Assist with obtaining a release letter to change to another education program.

Australian citizenship
The types of citizenship include:
- Citizenship by descent – Based upon the legal status of the parent(s) at the time of the child’s birth.
- Citzenship by conferral – A pathway for permanent residents of Australia.
- Born in Australia – Born in Australia (regardless of the legal status of the parents at the time of birth).
